Abstract:
An electronic device having a light-emission unit, a light-reception unit, a pulse rate calculation unit, and an attachment/detachment determination unit. The pulse rate calculation unit calculates the pulse rate of a user, on the basis of change in amounts of reflected light obtained when the light-reception unit receives reflected light of light emitted by the light-emission unit on to the user. The attachment/detachment determination unit determines attachment to and detachment from the user, on the basis of results from a comparison between a prescribed threshold value and a wave number or extreme value included in the change in reflected light amounts within a prescribed time.
