Abstract:
An electronic device (300) and a fingerprint identification method. A fingerprint can be successfully collected when certain user interfaces (UIs) are displayed on a touch control screen (304, 1604, 1704) of an electronic device (300) having a fingerprint identification function. The electronic device (300) comprises: a fingerprint identification sensor (303, 1601, 1701) for collecting, according to a swiping mode or a pressing mode, a fingerprint of a user in a region displayed on a touch control screen (304, 1604, 1704); at least one memory (301, 1602, 1702) for storing a fingerprint template; at least one processor (302, 1603, 1703) for determining and setting a fingerprint identification mode of a first display region; and the touch control screen (304, 1604, 1704) for detecting a first input of the user in the first display region, wherein the processor (302, 1603, 1703) is further used to: instruct the fingerprint identification sensor (303, 1601, 1701) to collect the fingerprint of the user according to a set mode, and match the fingerprint collected by the fingerprint identification sensor (303, 1601, 1701) and the fingerprint template. By means of the electronic device (300), a fingerprint identification mode can be set flexibly so that the electronic device (300) can successfully collect a fingerprint when different UIs are displayed on the touch control screen (304, 1604, 1704).
