Abstract:
The present invention provides an electronic device and a head-mounted display that are capable of appropriately adjusting the brightness of an image displayed on a screen while providing non-contact detection of movement and/or changes in shape of, e.g., an indicator for inputting gesture operations. In the electronic device, when an indicator detection device has detected that the indicator is within a detection area, a brightness control device interrupts execution of the normal brightness adjustment mode and executes a special brightness adjustment mode in accordance with movement and/or changes in shape of the indicator, the special brightness adjustment mode being different from the brightness adjustment mode.
