An electronic device according to various embodiments disclosed in this document may comprise a battery, a printed circuit board, a memory, and a processor. According to various embodiments, the processor may be configured to: periodically read a current value of the battery; in response to the read current value of the battery being equal to or greater than a first threshold value, periodically read the current value and a voltage value of the battery and store same in the memory; in response to the read current value of the battery being decreased to less than a second threshold value, determine a first current value and a first voltage value from the stored current values and voltage values of the battery; determine, as a second voltage value, a voltage value of the battery that is read after a predetermined period of time has elapsed since the read current value of the battery decreased to less than the second threshold value; and control a charging voltage and a charging current of the battery on the basis of the first voltage value, the second voltage value, and the first current value. Other various embodiments are possible.
