Abstract:
Provided are an electronic device, a method for charging an electronic device, and a program which can prevent the deterioration of a secondary battery by using a charging current that is set according to the time which can be spent for charging.
Specifically provided is an electronic device (100) comprising a secondary battery (114), a charging unit (116) which charges electric power supplied from an external power supply unit into the secondary battery at a set charging current, a measurement unit (112) which measures the amount of charge stored in the secondary battery, a time information acquisition unit (108) which acquires time information, a storage unit (102) which stores charging history information indicating the time zone in which a user performed charging, and a control unit (118) which comprises a chargeable time estimation unit (1186) that estimates the chargeable time on the basis of the charging history information and the time information and a charging current setting unit (1188) that calculates a restricted charging current at which the secondary battery can be charged to the charging capacity within the chargeable time on the basis of the amount of charge acquired from the measurement unit and sets the restricted charging current in the charging unit.
