Abstract:
Disclosed are: an electronic device that achieves both the convenience of a touch operation and an accurate position specification; and a method for controlling the same. When an area corresponding to a predetermined condition has been detected from an image, the electronic device performs a function corresponding to a position where a touch has been detected by a touch detection means. In addition, when the area corresponding to the predetermined condition has not been detected or area detection is not performed, the electronic device does not perform a process corresponding to the position where the touch has been detected by the touch detection means, but performs a process corresponding to a touch position movement operation.
