Abstract:
An electronic device according to one embodiment comprises a first camera, a depth sensor for detecting depth, a memory, and at least one processor electrically connected to the first camera, the depth sensor, and the memory. The memory may store instructions that, when executed, cause the at least one processor to execute a photographing application, to acquire first images and depth information through the first camera or the depth sensor before a photographing command is received, to acquire a second image through the first camera when the photographing command is received, to separate a subject image and a background image from the second image on the basis of the depth information, and to restore a part of the background image covered by the subject image on the basis of the first images. A method for operating the electronic device according to one embodiment may comprise: an operation of executing the photographing application; an operation of acquiring the first images and the depth information through the first camera or the depth sensor before the photographing command is received; an operation of acquiring the second image through the first camera when the photographing command is received; an operation of separating the subject image and the background image from the second image on the basis of the depth information; and an operation of restoring a part of the background image covered by the subject image on the basis of the first images. According to various embodiments, it is possible to provide an electronic device and a method thereof that can secure a plurality of images before a photographing command of a user, acquire an image by separating a subject and a background from each other, and provide various effects on the basis of the acquired image.
