Abstract:
　According to an embodiment of the present invention, a first stroke string corresponding to a first stroke inputted by handwriting is displayed on a screen by an electronic device as a stroke candidate that can be inputted. When a second stroke is inputted by handwriting after the first stoke is inputted by handwriting, the electronic device displays, after displaying the first stroke string, either a second stroke string corresponding to a set of the first and second strokes or a third stroke string corresponding to the second stroke, in accordance with the distance between a first area in which the first stroke is displayed and a second area in which the second stroke is displayed, the second stroke string or third stroke string being displayed on the screen as a stroke candidate that can be inputted.
