Abstract:
According to an embodiment, this method comprises: inputting stroke data which corresponds to a handwritten stroke; and, if stroke data corresponding to a stroke has been input, displaying, on a screen, a character string candidate that is based on a set of strokes corresponding to stroke data that had been input by the time when the abovementioned stroke data had been input. If second stroke data corresponding to a second stroke has been input after first stroke data corresponding to a first stroke, and a first character string candidate based on a first set of stroke data that had been input by the time when the first stroke data had been input is different from a second character string candidate based on a second set of stroke data that had been input by the time when the second stroke data had been input, the second character string candidate is given priority over the first character string candidate and displayed on the screen.
