The present document relates to a method and device for UWB communication, and the electronic device comprises a communication module, a memory, and at least one processor electrically connected to the communication module and the memory, wherein the at least one processor is configured to control the communication module to broadcast a ranging request message including an address selected from among a plurality of addresses configured in a designated broadcast address pool, by using short-range wireless communication, and receive a ranging response message from at least one external electronic device to which the selected address is allocated by using the designated broadcast address pool, wherein the address allocated to the at least one external electronic device may correspond to the address included in the ranging request message. Other embodiments may also be possible.
