Abstract:
In an electronic device and an operation method of the electronic device, according to various embodiments, the electronic device comprises: a communication processor that transmits or receives data to or from a network through cellular communication; and a communication circuit, wherein the communication processor may: receive a paging message including an indicator that indicates a service type for transmitting or receiving the data from the network; upon receiving the paging message, enter a radio resource control (RRC) connection state and connect to a node supporting dual connectivity (DC); receive, in the RRC connection state, a measurement object related to a node different from the node connected to the electronic device; and, in response to confirming that a service type included in the indicator matches a preset first service type, control the communication circuit to prohibit an operation of measuring the quality of a signal broadcast by the different node, on the basis of the measurement object. Various other embodiments are possible.
