Abstract:
The sound level can be appropriately controlled in accordance with the circumstance where the electronic device is used. A portable disc apparatus (2), which can be attached to a cradle (3), includes a connection detecting line (DET) connected to a pull-up resistor (56) and to a control part (50) for detecting an attachment or non-attachment of the portable disc apparatus (2) to the cradle (3). The portable disc apparatus (2) further includes a DSP (53) and the control part (50) that, when the non-attachment of the portable disc apparatus (2) is detected, sets a sound, which is to be outputted from the portable disc apparatus (2) to a dedicated headphone (15), at a sound level based on a predetermined headphone sound level value (VH). The control part (50), when the attachment of the portable disc apparatus (2) is detected, switches the sound, which is to be outputted from speakers (4L,4R) via the cradle (3), from the sound level based on the headphone sound level value (VH) to a sound level based on a line sound level value (VL) greater than the headphone sound level value (VH).
