Abstract:
An electronic device (102, 104, 800) comprises a communication circuit (190) and a processor (120) electrically connected to the communication circuit. The processor is configured to: provide first information triggering a profile transfer to the electronic device from an external electronic device (101); on the basis that the profile transfer based on an EAP-AKA authentication operation is possible, acquire first authentication information acquired through an EAP-AKA authentication operation between the external electronic device and a server (520) associated with the profile transfer; on the basis that the profile transfer based on the EAP-AKA authentication operation is impossible, acquire, through the communication circuit, second authentication information by performing an authentication operation, which is different from the EAP-AKA authentication operation, with the server; and perform an operation for the profile transfer, on the basis of one of the first authentication information and the second authentication information.
