Even if the supply of power from an external power source to an electronic device has been interrupted, the electronic device can operate together with another electronic device in response to giving an instruction of controlling the other electronic device. An electronic device according to an aspect of the invention is controlled in operation by another electronic device when the other electronic device is controlled by a predetermined instruction. The inventive electronic device comprises a receiving unit for receiving a power supply on-command; a switch for supplying the power from an external power source in response to the power supply on-command; an operating unit that performs an operation in accordance with a control of the other electronic device; and a power supply control unit that, when the receiving unit receives the power supply on-command, turns on the switch, thereby supplying the power from the external power source to the operating unit and allowing the other electronic device to control the operating unit.
