An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present disclosure comprises a housing, a flexible display, a sensor module including at least one biometric recognition sensor, and at least one processor operatively connected to the flexible display and the sensor module, wherein the at least one processor may be configured to: receive a first input for biometric information recognition through the at least one biometric sensor; identify, in response to the first input, whether the first input is an input related to user authentication in a running application; perform, in response to the first input not being an input related to user authentication in the running application, user authentication related to a state of the electronic device; receive, on the basis of success in the user authentication, a second input while maintaining the first input, to display on the flexible display a user interface including at least one menu available for execution request; and perform, on the basis of the receiving of the second input while maintaining the first input, a function corresponding to the menu selected using the user interface. Other embodiments are also possible.
