Abstract:
Provided are a display device, a method of controlling a display device, and a control program for the same, with which erroneous detection can be effectively suppressed while at the same time achieving non-contact operation. This electronic instrument is provided with: a proximity sensor which detects an object in a detection region within a proximity range, and generates an output; a device which is controlled by means of a control signal; and a control circuit which generates the control signal for controlling the device. In accordance with the output from the proximity sensor corresponding to a first motion of the object relative to the proximity sensor, the control circuit is capable of executing in a first mode which executes a first control relating to the device or to the control circuit itself, or a second mode relating to the output from the proximity sensor corresponding to the first motion, skipping the first control. The control circuit switches from the second mode to the first mode, or from the first mode to the second mode, on the basis of the output from the proximity sensor corresponding to a second motion of the object relative to the proximity sensor, where said second motion is different from the first motion.
