Abstract:
Disclosed is an electronic level capable of accurately measuring a difference of altitude between two points even when a waving method in which a minimum value of heights read while rocking a leveling rod back and forth is searched and determined as a measured height is used. Specifically disclosed is an electronic level which comprises a leveling-rod reading means (S2) that reads graduations on a leveling rod rocked back and forth and that stores the read heights and the time of reading; an approximating-function determining means (S3) that approximates the heights read by the leveling-rod reading means using a quadratic function of time; and a measured-value calculating means (S4) that determines the minimum value of the quadratic function approximated by the approximating-function determining means as a measured height.
