Abstract:
An electronic mirror device for displaying an image captured by a camera mounted on a vehicle, the electronic mirror device having: a liquid crystal display having a display surface; a retardation plate; and a cholesteric liquid crystal layer. The retardation plate is arranged relative to the liquid crystal display so as to face the display surface, and circularly polarizes a liquid crystal image emitted from the liquid crystal display. The cholesteric liquid crystal layer is arranged on the opposite side of the liquid crystal display relative to the retardation plate. The liquid crystal image circularly polarized by the retardation plate is transmitted through the cholesteric liquid crystal layer.
