Abstract:
The invention relates to a brake device for an electric motor (12) comprising at least one first switch unit (14), which has at least two switch element (16, 18, 20), and at least one second switch unit (22), which has at least two switch elements (24, 26, 28). The first switch unit (14) and the second switch unit (22) are connected to the electric motor (12) in an electrically conductive manner at least in order to supply power. The brake device (10) comprises at least one control and/or regulating unit (30) which is designed to switch all the switch elements (16, 18, 20) of the first switch unit (14) and all the switch elements (24, 26, 28) of the second switch unit (22) in an alternating manner in order to produce a short-circuit brake of the electric motor (12).
