Abstract:
The present invention is provided with a bag-shaped pressing cuff that applies pressure to a site to be measured upon being fed a fluid for pressurization. The present invention is provided, separately from the pressing cuff, with a bag-shaped sensing cuff for accommodating a fluid for pressure transmission, on the inner circumferential side of the pressing cuff. A DC component of data representing the pressure (Pc) of the pressing cuff is subtracted from data representing the pressure (Ps) of the sensing cuff during a decompression process, and the pressure of a rising start point (PWa) and the pressure of a peak point (PWp) exhibited every beat by pressure pulse waves are obtained. A first time point (t1) at which the pressure of the peak point (PWp) for each beat shifts between zero level and a positive value during the decompression process is obtained, and the pressure (Pc) of the pressing cuff at the first time point (t1) is obtained as a systolic blood pressure value; and a second time point (t2) at which the pressure of the rising start point (Pwa) for each beat shifts between zero level and a positive value is obtained, and the pressure (Pc) of the pressing cuff at the second time point (t2) is obtained as a diastolic blood pressure value.
