Description:
"Electronic system for psychomotor assistance"

Description Field of the art

The present invention refers to the field of systems for helping people who are disabled or partially disabled due to trauma or for congenital reasons; in detail, it regards an electronic system for aiding physical rehabilitation. The present invention also regards a method for aiding and/or assisting the rehabilitation.

In detail, in the present description, the term sports enthusiasts will refer to those people of any age who practice any type of sports activity or in any case a physical activity, whether these people are abled or disabled due to trauma or from birth.

The present invention also refers to a method for assisting people with psychomotor problems, disabilities or trauma.

Prior art

Sport and movement are an increasingly widespread practice, a habit, a tool for prevention and for psycho-physical wellbeing, as well as for physical and psychological rehabilitation. Nationally, many sports realities have formed associations, federations and bodies, recognized and non-recognized by the national organization (in Italy, this is represented by CONI - national authority on sport of every type and level), which promote physical exercise and sports. There are also an increasing number of events aimed to promote and grow a sports culture, which impacts the growth of every single person from infancy to adult age.

This growing need to care for one's body through sport has led to the diffusion of many professional figures such as instructors, coaches, physiotherapists, massagers, sport nutritionists, sport psychologists, etc...

Unfortunately, as often occurs, simultaneously with the rise of degree courses and professional qualification courses pertaining to this field, there has been a diffusion of pseudo-education courses, i.e. "week-end formula" and the like, which after only a few- hours of lessons and nearly no practical activity release a certification to participants that is of little worth - but which allows those holding it to operate on the market.

In Italy and in many other countries, in fact, there is no legal and institutional protection of all those professional figures who, in the sports world, have knowledge and competencies certified on a university level, for the service of the health and wellbeing of both abled and disabled subjects. This signifies that sports enthusiasts will have to find their way through a jungle of professionals without having the certainty that the latter will have suitable education/training. Indeed, "improvising" professionals are not always easily distinguishable from those who have instead completed an actual training/education path.

Observing the online reality dedicated to the world of sports, both for abled and disabled subjects, and for the qualified professionals who operate therein, it is possible to identify portals such as Edusport (which contains news and proposals aimed for the motor sciences, for physical activity and for psycho-physical wellbeing), those of the various sports and sports promotion associations/federations, and perhaps the most important portal "Capdi", of the confederation of associations of people with ISEF diplomas and motor science degrees, which groups the motor science degree holders of various specialized classes in Italy together in Provincial Registers.

Currently, there is no portal that includes all the professionals linked to the sports world in a single list, which can signify an actual professional Register of rehabilitation operators who can work side-by-side the physiotherapist in the physical and motor rehabilitation of the traumatized patient.

One of the objects of the present invention, therefore, is to lay the bases for the obtainment of an association in which each qualified operator of the sports and rehabilitation field can be enrolled in a list that ensures the adequate training/education of the professional.

With particular reference to the field of motor ability, the correct evaluation and the correct follow-up of a subject with physical problems or disabilities require a team of professional doctors or paramedics; for the patient and his/her family, this involves a great loss of time and money, necessary for reaching each of the team doctors. Such problem is in particular encountered in those patients whose primary home lies in remote areas, where visiting the suitable team doctor is problematic even for normal abled individuals, and even more so for a subject who is not fully self-sufficient. In particular, the discussion does not only include actually therapeutic exercises, but more generally all those exercises for improving the daily routine, also for activities different from those that are strictly therapeutic.

Although remote areas are those most affected by the abovementioned problem, and in urban areas there is a high presence of suitable doctors or hospitals, there are still many problems for traumatized or disabled individuals; even common activities such as descending a staircase can become problems, and if the affected person also has psychomotor deficits, renunciatory behavior can be established, causing a considerable deterioration of the quality of life.

The main objective of the present patent application is to arrange an electronic system through which the professionals can reach the traumatized or disabled sports enthusiast at his/her home, through an actual "home clinic" that arrives in the home of the patient in order to attend to his/her physiological and organic needs.

Another problem, not often confronted, that negatively affects the sports world and particularly the professional sports practitioner, regards the post-career or forced interruption of the competitive career due to a trauma. Through the electronic system of the present invention, the professional and ex -professional sports practitioners, as well as the users already belonging to the category of professionals, can access - wherever they are - a program of training or online updating due to which it is possible to initiate or deepen a certified education which ensures their acquisition of a professional accreditation to be carried forward even after the end of the sports career.

Further object of the invention is therefore to insert proposals for learning and specialization and/or high qualification in specific fields of the psycho-physical rehabilitation. Summary of the invention

More in detail, the user 1, 2 who wishes to access the electronic system 10 must insert said connection device 103, 203 in the suitable port of his/her electronic device 300, in a manner such that the system can geo-locate it by means of said GPS tracker 102, 202 and provide the required services based on the geographic positioning of the user 1, 2 itself Optionally and preferably, said identification card 100, 200 will be provided with a memory card 101 , 201 preferably reversibly removable from the body of the identification card 100, 200. In this manner, the user 1, 2 can create a personal archive thereof containing, by way of a non- limiting example, diagnosis data, description of diseases and therapies carried out or prescribed, medical certificates, laboratory analysis and the like.

Still as an option, after the enrollment or in any case the first access to said electronic system 10, a first type of identification card 100 can be provided to each user 1 belonging to said first category of users and a second type of identification card 200 can be provided to each second user 2 of said second category of users.

With reference to FIG. 3, one can see, on said identification card 100, 200, a plurality of connection devices 103-203, 103'-203', 103"-203 " adapted to ensure the compatibility with any connection port of any electronic device 300 usable by the user 1, 2. Preferably but not exclusively, said connection devices 103-203, 103' -203', 103" -203" will be connected in a rotatable manner or partially extractible from the body of said identification card 00, 200, in a manner so as to prevent possible loss.

After a second user 2 has made his/her first access to the electronic system 10 of the present invention, he/she inserts the data which comes to form a personal user card 220 saved inside said memor' 322, each of which uniquely associated with a respective second user 2 of the category of the patients. Within said user card 220, a plurality of data is contained which comprises identification data of the user, information regarding the physical activity carried out, possible diseases, malformation, trauma, past therapies or therapies in progress and other similar data and a plurality of authorization codes or data for viewing the user card 220 by one or more of the first users 1 belonging to the category of professionals. Personal data, physical activity, therapies to be executed and execution results, along with the plurality of authorization codes or data can be organized in respective sub-fields inside each user card 220 according to any one electronic organization technique for data of known type.

In this manner, the system, object of the present invention, advantageously allows optimally managing the privacy of the data, allowing only the restricted circle of doctors who treat or follow the second user 2 to access his/her data.

The system, object of the present invention, also comprises - for each associated second user 2 - a calendar, it too stored inside the user card 220, conceived for proposing the exercises stored in the memory or possible appointments directly on the electronic device 300 of the user. In detail, in order to do this, the microprocessor 323 maintains a time count and interrogates the calendar of each user card 220 present in memor' 322; when, on the date or at the time corresponding to that currently counted by the microprocessor 323, there is an event (pursuant to the present invention intended as an exercise or appointment), such event will be notified directly to the second user 2 or at the time of his/her access to the electronic system 10, object of the present invention, by means of his/her electronic device 300 or through the turning on of the possible suitable light signal 204 or acoustic signal present on the identification card 200 of said second user 2.

Analogously, after a first user 1 carries out his/her first access to the electronic system 10 of the present invention, he/she inserts the data that comes to form a personal user card 220 saved inside said memory 322, each of which uniquely associated with a respective first user 1 of the category of professionals. Within said user card 220, a plurality of data is contained which comprises identification data of the user, information regarding to the training and educational background, possible specializations, the location of the professional office thereof, which can be organized in respective sub-fields inside each user card 220 according to any one electronic organization technique for data of known type.

The system, object of the present invention, also comprises, for each associated first user 1, a calendar, it too stored inside the user card 220, conceived for proposing possible appointments directly on the electronic device 300 of the user, analogous to that already described for the second users 2. Also the identification card 100 of each first user 1 , in fact, is preferably provided with a suitable light signal 104 or acoustic signal which is turned on when an appointment is imminent.

When the second user 2 is connected to the computer 320 of the electronic system 10, object of the present invention, said user transmits access credentials to the latter (preferably a set of previously-attributed user names and passwords) which are processed by the microprocessor 323 in order to cause the access to his/her user card 220.

The electronic system 10, object of the present invention, also comprises a configuration of request for qualified personnel, represented by the first category of users. Indeed, all the professionals of the first category of users are stored on the memory 322 in a doctors card thereof, within which the addresses thereof are specified. Due to the GPS tracker 201 present in the identification card 200 of the second user 2, the microprocessor 323 is configured for arranging each time the list of first users 1 displayed based on an order of distance from the localization position of the second user 2.

Once the second user 2 selects one or more first users 1 with whom he/she wishes to establish a data connection, the electronic system 10 makes all the personal data of the second user 2 visible to the selected first user 1.

The system, object of the present invention, is also conceived for allowing the access to a specific user card 220, even by multiple first users 1 simultaneously. In this manner, and independent of the presence or lack of presence of the user patient, the case study or the patient progress can be analyzed by a pool or a team of doctors with specialization close to but different with respect to each other; additionally, such doctors do not necessarily have to be situated in the same place but they can be remotely positioned even at great distance from other. This advantageously allows an economic and time savings both for the user 2 and for his/her family members and/or accompanying individuals, and allows accelerating possible therapeutic adaptations, diagnoses or consultations among doctors with respect to that which would occur in managing a plurality of meetings ad personam. Once the second user 2 has accessed the system in order to search for one or more first users 1 belonging to said first category of professionals, the system is configured for presenting, on the electronic device 300 of said second user 2, a selection mask of at least one first user 1 in which the first users are listed in order of increasing distance from the second user 2. In detail, this involves an access to the complete set of professional cards in the memory 322, a temporary reorganization of their presentation based on a calculation of distance between the address present in each professional card with respect to the address of the second user 2, and the execution of an increasing sorting algorithm in order to present said list to the second user 2.

When the second user 2 makes his/her selection, the system alerts said first user 1 ; in particular, if the optional light signal 104 or acoustic signal is present on the identification card 100 of said first user 1 , the system, object of the present invention, is automatically configured in a call configuration, in which said light signal 104 or acoustic signal is turned on and in any case an alarm signal is sent towards the electronic device 300 associated with the respective first user 1 , e.g. transmitting thereto the name and/or data and/or telephone number of the second user 2 who requested the call.

Alternatively, the second user 2 can also access the system, object of the present invention, in order to search for a professional in accordance with a criterion of professional specialization, in such case, the system, object of the present invention, is configured to access the professional cards present in memory 322 and select therefrom only those where a field of specialization coincides with that sought by the second user 2, and then transmit towards the electronic device 300 a list in which said professionals are, as a non-limiting example, ordered according to a criterion of alphabetical type.

After the connection and data exchange has taken place, the latter including electronic messages, audio and/or video files in video-call form or video-messages temporarily saved in said memory 322 and addressed to the first user 1 or to the second user 2 in a manner so as to be able to manage a delayed communication, the second user 2 may send, to said computer 320, a feedback regarding the satisfaction with the performance of said first user 1. The electronic system 10 of the present invention can in fact be configured for calculating a satisfaction ranking of said first users 1 by the second users 2 who have had a data exchange therewith. In detail this involves an access to the complete set of professional cards in the memory 322, a temporary reorganization of their presentation based on a satisfaction calculation on the basis of said feedback sent by said second users 2, and the execution of an increasing sorting algorithm in order to present said ranking to the second user 2,

The electronic system 10, object of the present invention, is also configured for presenting, to the plurality of second users 2 belonging to the category of disabled individuals (with slight, moderate or grave motor disability due to congenital reasons or following trauma), an accessible computer interface for searching for protected footpaths for physically reaching the medical office address of the preselected first user 1; such interface substantially functions by means of procedures of known type, e.g. through a sendee similar to that provided by Google Maps.

The access credentials that the users 1, 2 introduce when they access the electronic system 10, object of the present invention, preferably comprise a user-name and a password which are first - at the time of registration in the system - temporarily assigned in a random manner by the system itself, and subsequently modified by each user 1 , 2 at the time of first access to the system.

In addition, the system, object of the present invention, is configured in a manner such that, in case of loss of the password by any one of the users 1, 2, not even the system administrator can trace the forgotten password. In case of loss, such administrator can only configure the system to allow a new sending of a temporary password towards the user 1, 2. This contributes to allowing greater transparency and security in managing the data of the users 1 , 2.

Finally, it is observed that the system, object of the present invention, can be configured for presenting, to the set of first and second users, a public interface - of web portal type - in which the following can be found: articles, presentations, texts, images or teaching material in general, for example published by one of the first users 1 and loaded in said memory 322. In detail, the second user 2, belonging to the category of patients who wish to be informed or undertake training in the field of medicine and sports, can be enrolled in a suitable online training program provided by the electronic system 10 of the present invention. Still more in detail, by selecting the training context of interest, he/she receives an alarm in his/her electronic device 300 or by means of the light signal 204 or acoustic signal of his/her identification card 200 when any one of said first users 1 publishes teaching material pertaining to the preselected subject matter. Said second user 2 can download and display said material present on said memory 322, thus undertaking a certified education which may be verified in appropriate venues by means of suitable exams, in order to be granted a certification of such studies. The same can also take place for the study, in-depth learning and professional updating of the first users 1 belonging to the first category of users. In particular, each first user 1 can be enrolled in an on-line learning, specialization or update program, provided by the electronic system 10 of the present invention. More in detail, he/she, by selecting the field of interest, receives an alarm on his/her electronic device 300 or by means of the light signal 104 or acoustic signal of his/her identification card 100, when any one of the colleagues belonging to the first category of users publishes teaching material pertaining to the preselected subject matter. Said first user 1 can download and display said material, thus updating his/her own knowledge and continuing his/her training or specialization.

The advantages of the system, object of the present invention, are clear in light of the preceding description. In particular, it makes possible an improvement of the quality of life of people with physical and motor problems of any kind, not only in strictly therapeutic and/or diagnostic terms, but also at the network level, with people who even if remotely positioned with respect to the user, know how to manage the possible even grave situations of a traumatized or disabled user.

Finally, it is clear that additions, modifications or variations that are obvious for the man skilled in the art can be applied to the system, object of the present invention, without departing from the protective scope of the enclosed claims.
