Abstract:
A medical infusion pump system comprising: a pump housing; a user display; a modular electromechanical pump driver positioned within the pump housing, the modular electromechanical pump driver comprising a first component in the form of a motor, a second component in the form of a loader configured to receive a disposable fluid holder, and a third component in the form of a plunger configured to pump medical fluid through the fluid holder; wherein the first, second, and third components of the modular electromechanical pump driver are directly or indirectly connected to each other as a removable unit, and wherein the modular electromechanical pump driver can be removed as a unit from within the pump housing without removing the first, second, and third components from each other and without removing a portion of the pump housing that generally surrounds and extends past a back surface of the pump driver.
