Abstract:
Provided is an electrophoretic display device which can display highly accurate color images.
The electrophoretic display device is provided with: a plurality of display units, which are disposed in matrix, and which display respective pixels, each of said display units having at least three layers of cells, each of which contains charged particles; first electrodes, which are provided on the upper surfaces or the lower surfaces of respective cells; and second electrodes, which are provided on the side edge portions of respective cells. The charged particles are colored in different colors by each cell in each of the display units.
