Abstract:
Provided is a method that can analyze a tissue or other sample that has not undergone preprocessing. Said sample is inserted into the tip section of a hollow insulating sample holder (11), said tip section having a small hole (11a) opened therein. A thin metal wire (12) is inserted into the sample holder (11) from the back, and while in contact with the sample inside the sample holder (11), the thin metal wire is made to protrude outside the sample holder (11) through the hole (11a). A high voltage is applied to the thin metal wire (12) during at least part of the time when the tip of said thin metal wire (12) is protruding outside from the hole (11a). The sample adhered to the tip of the thin metal wire (12) is ionized via electrospray, introduced into an analysis device, and analyzed.
