Abstract:
Provided are an electrostatic capacitance detection device and an electrostatic capacitance detection method with which reduction in detection sensitivity caused by delay in a signal phase is inhibited. This electrostatic capacitance detection device comprises: at least one detection electrode; a shield electrode disposed close to the detection electrode; an AC signal source for supplying an AC signal to the shield electrode; a detection circuit for detecting an electrostatic capacitance between the detection electrode and an object present close to the detection electrode on the basis of the detection signal outputted from the detection electrode and the AC signal outputted from the AC signal source; and a phase adjustment circuit that is disposed between the AC signal source and the shield electrode and that advances the phase of the AC signal outputted from the AC signal source.
