Abstract:
An electrostatic coating method uses a rotary atomizing coating device (1) to electrostatically coat an object (W) to be coated. An electrically charged coating material is atomized and ejected from the edge of the front end of the rotary atomizing head (22) of the rotary atomizing coating device (1), and shaping air is ejected toward the vicinity of the edge of the front end of the rotary atomizing head (22), the shaping air restricting the angle of ejection of the coating material by different restriction forces in a first area (410) and a second area (420) which are divided in the circumferential direction about the rotation axis (X) of the rotary atomizing head (22). As a result, an asymmetrically shaped coating pattern (PA) is formed.
