Abstract:
Provided is an electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection device in which deterioration of discharge characteristics due to repeated discharge is unlikely. An ESD protection device (1) is provided with a substrate (2), and first and second discharge electrodes (3, 4) that each have a primary surface and are disposed on the substrate (2). The primary surfaces of the first and second discharge electrodes (3, 4) face each other in the thickness direction of the substrate (2) with a gap interposed therebetween. Through holes (3a, 4a) are provided in at least one of the facing sections of the first and second discharge electrodes (3, 4).
