Abstract:
[Objective] To provide an electrostatic-induction type conversion element having high mechanoelectric conversion efficiency. [Solution] An electrostatic-induction type conversion element (1) that conducts conversion between electric energy and kinetic energy is provided with: a base material (21) one main face of which is composed of a conductor; a dielectric-polarization body (10) formed on the main face; and an electrode (22) that is arranged facing a surface (10s) of the dielectric-polarization body (10), and that moves relative to the dielectric-polarization body (10) so that the area thereof facing the surface (10s) changes. The dielectric-polarization body (10) is composed of a ferroelectric having crystal orientation.
