Abstract:
In order to increase the output and to reduce frictional force acting on a movable substrate in an electrostatic-mechanical converter that uses electrostatic interaction between a charging unit and opposing electrodes to convert between electrical power and motive power, this electrostatic-mechanical converter has: a stationary substrate; a movable substrate which is able to move while a fixed distance is maintained between the movable substrate and the stationary substrate; multiple charging units arranged on the surface of the movable substrate facing the stationary substrate, and arranged with intervals therebetween in the direction of movement of the movable substrate; multiple opposing electrodes arranged on the surface of the stationary substrate facing the movable substrate, and arranged in the direction of movement; and a ground electrode facing the side of the movable substrate that is on the opposite side of the opposing surface of the movable substrate.
