Abstract:
An electrostatic precipitator is provided with a casing having a gas inflow unit and a gas outflow unit, and a charging unit (12) provided within the casing and charging dust in a gas flowing between the gas inflow unit and the gas outflow unit. The charging unit (12) has charging electrode plates (15) and grounding electrode plates (14) disposed along the direction of gas flow. The charging electrode plates (15) and/or the grounding electrode plates (14) are provided with a dust attachment part (20a) formed from a plurality of metal wires. Dust is charged by deposition on the dust attachment part (20a) by gradient force generated by applying a high voltage to the charging electrode plates (15).
