Abstract:

Provided are: an electrowetting device that comprises a membrane having excellent water repellency, membrane strength, and durability; and a display device and a lens that comprise said electrowetting device. This electrowetting device comprises: a space for containing fluids; two types of fluids that form an interface in said space; a membrane that is in contact with said space; a first electrode arranged on the opposite side of said membrane from the side in contact with said space; and a second electrode that is in contact with one of said two types of fluids. Said membrane is a multilayer membrane including: a layer (A) comprising a fluorine-containing polymer (A) that includes, as a main component, a constituent unit including a fluorine-containing aliphatic ring structure having one etheric oxygen atom in the ring structure thereof; and a layer (B) comprising a fluorine-containing polymer (B) that includes, as a main component, a constituent unit including a fluorine-containing aliphatic ring structure having two or three etheric oxygen atoms in the ring structure thereof. Said layer (B) is arranged on the outermost layer on the side in contact with said space.
