CLAIMS
1. A dental installation internal to its bone, of the kind for simulating the function of the natural tooth, cha caracterized in: a central body (1) of biocompactible metal material, li¬ ke titanium, having a central cavity (2) that allows the insertion of the prosthesis (D); an external coating (3) of said central body (1) of ela stic material having such a thickness that it undergoes, under the pressure performed by the natural mastication, a deformation of about 0.1 mm; an eventual external coating (4) of said elastic material (3), obtained with an inorganic, amorphous substance that causes the bone integration of said installation.
2. A dental installation internal to its bone accord¬ ing to claim 1, characterized in the square retentions in¬ serted in the corresponding housings (6) provided in the central body (1) that improve the functionality of the pro¬ sthesis.
Description:
"A DENTAL INSTALLATION INTERNAL TO ITS BONE"

The present invention concerns a dental installation inter¬ nal to its bone, comprising an external elastic coating to the metal structure of said installation.

Dental installation internal to the bone are already known in which the metal structure is at direct contact with the alveolar bone so that the prosthesis lacks the elasticity features typical of natural teeth.

It is also well known that the bone tissue undergoes a con¬ tinuous remodelling due to addition and reabsorption pro¬ cesses: more precisely a pressure performed on the bone causes the reabsorption, while a tension causes addition processes.

A natural tooth, when subject to those pressures perform¬ ed thereon during the natural mastication function, shows an intrusion of about 0.1 mm, due to the paradontal li¬ gament.

It has been prooved that the pressures performed while ma¬ stication - due to this dental intrusion - cause in the al- veolar bone the developpment of a tension force that caus¬ es addition processes and not reabsorption.

It is the main purpose of the present invention to simulate the function of the natural tooth.

The dental installation internal to its bone that is the object of the present invention, comprises - for simulat¬ ing the function of the paradontal ligament - an external elastic coating which, once it has obtained strong links with the alveolar bone or by means of interposition of a bone-integrating matrix , makes possible the intrusion of the installation in a way similar to the one of the natu¬ ral tooth, as well as the determination of tension forces for the alveolar bone.

In this way, the present invention also solves the prob¬ lem of the different intrusive elasticity existing bet¬ ween a natural tooth and an installation internal to the bone, being fix (not elastic), being part of one and the same dental prosthesis.

Therefore, according to the aim set forth, the installa¬ tion according to the present invention has the purpose of simulating the behaviour the the natural tooth also during the mastication function.

The present invention has been described more in detail hereinbelow according to the enclosed drawings, in which a preferred embodiment is shown:

figure 1 shows a vertical section of a dental installa¬ tion internal to its bone;

figure 2 shows a possible variant of the installation ac¬ cording to the present invention having the same purpose; figure 3 shows a detail of a portion of the installation according to the present invention.

The figures show a dental installation internal to its bo¬ ne, comprising:

- a central body (1) of bio-compactible metal material, li¬ ke titanium, having a central cavity (2) that allows the insertion of the prosthesis (D);

- an external coating (3) of said central body (1) of ela¬ stic material having such a thickness that it undergoes, under the pressure performed by the natural mastication, a deformation of about 0.1 mm;

- an eventual external coating (4) of said elastic material (3), obtained with an inorganic, amorphous substance that causes the bone integration of said installation.

Relating to the direction A of the mastication power and the direction B of the resultings of the forces onto tooth (D), in the variant according to figures 2 and 3 the square re¬ tentions(5)are shown, inserted in the corresponding housings (β)provided in the central body (1) that provide, according to the present invention, to improve the functionality of the prosthesis.
