Abstract:
In the present invention, for an element of a transmission belt that is wound on a primary pulley and a secondary pulley of a continuously variable transmission and that transmits torque, the distance to the saddle surface from a boundary line between a locking edge portion and a surface located farther on the outer circumferential side of the transmission belt than the locking edge portion is determined from the slip amount due to microslippage, which is the relative slippage between the element and the primary pulley generated when the primary pulley pushes the transmission belt toward the secondary pulley, and the angular speed of the element and the angular speed of the ring, within the range in which the transmission belt is wound on the secondary pulley.
