Title:
ELEMENT, FRICTION ELEMENT WELDING METHOD, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FRICTION ELEMENT WELDED JOINT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2022/202788
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide an element for friction element welding. For applying friction element welding to a plate set comprising two or more metal plates, there is used an element provided with a cylindrical mandrel that is press-fitted to the plate set; a disc-shaped collar arranged on an upper end surface of the mandrel; and a conical pin extending from a lower end surface of the mandrel, a plurality of fluidized metal discharge grooves each in a spiral shape are provided in a flat region which is of the lower end surface of the mandrel and is other than the region of the pin. The element may have a columnar-shaped mandrel, a lower end surface of the mandrel may be formed to present a conical shape with an apex angle of αm, and, on the surface presenting the conical shape, at least one pair of cutting-chip discharge grooves each in a curved shape may be formed from the apex or a plurality of cutting blades may additionally be formed
