Abstract:
An organo−electroluminescence element having a glass substrate, a hole injection electrode formed on the substrate and, formed on the hole injection electrode in the following order, a hole transportation layer, a luminescent layer, a hole blocking layer and an electron transportation layer, and an electron injection electrode formed on the electron transportation layer, wherein the luminescent layer comprises an organometallic compound of a platinum group element comprising a phenanthridine derivative. The organometallic compound of a platinum group element is capable of emitting a light having a red to orange color through a triplet excited state.
