Abstract:
This element manufacturing method is for manufacturing an element which has both a thick part and a thin part and which configures a transmission belt for continuously variable transmission by feeding a belt-shape element of uniform thickness to each pressing position and press processing the element material in each press position. As the press processing performed in each press position, the method involves a pre-punch step for punching such that a connecting part connecting to the surrounding material is left and the cut-away part other than the connecting part is cut away from the surrounding material, and the cut-away part does not overlap the surrounding material in the plate thickness direction, a crushing step after the pre-punch step for compressing and crushing the region corresponding to the thin part of the cut-away part, and a punch step after the crushing step for punching the cut-away part into an outer shape corresponding to the element.
