Abstract:
The present invention relates to an elemental mercury oxidizing and nitrogen oxide removing apparatus using thermal decomposition of solid ammonium chloride, and an elemental mercury oxidizing and nitrogen oxide removing method using same and, more specifically, to an apparatus and a method for oxidizing elemental mercury and reducing nitrogen oxide in an exhaust gas by generating hydrochloric acid and ammonia by thermally decomposing solid ammonium chloride. The method for oxidizing elemental mercury and removing nitrogen oxide by thermally decomposing solid ammonium chloride according to the present invention comprises: a raw material supply step (S100) for supplying solid ammonium chloride from a raw material supplier to a high temperature furnace; a thermal decomposition step (S200) of generating gaseous hydrochloric acid and ammonia as reactants by thermally decomposing the solid ammonium chloride injected from the raw material supplier in the high temperature furnace; and a reaction step (S300) of receiving the reactants, which have been generated in the high temperature furnace, from the reactor to oxidize elemental mercury in an exhaust gas by means of the hydrochloric acid and reduce nitrogen oxide in the exhaust gas by means of the ammonia.
