Abstract:
Provided are an elevator control device and a control method with which such a confinement that a rescue operation for causing a cage to travel in a powering direction is impossible hardly occurs. In a control device (100), an inverter (8) drives a hoisting machine motor (9) for causing the cage of an elevator to travel. A smoothing capacitor (7) stabilizes the voltage of a DC bus line connected to the inverter (8). A regenerative resistor (10) consumes the regenerative power generated by the hoisting machine motor (9) during the regenerative operation of the elevator. A threshold setting unit (15) sets a voltage threshold value so that the remaining lifetime of the inverter (8) predicted by a second lifetime prediction unit (17) becomes longer than the remaining lifetime of a regenerative switching element (11) predicted by a first lifetime prediction unit (16). A switching control unit (13) controls, on the basis of a relationship between the voltage detection value of the DC bus line and the set voltage threshold value, the switching operation of the regenerative switching element (11) for switching the presence or absence of current flow into the regenerative resistor (10).
