Abstract:
In an elevator device, a drive unit, having a thin type motor, is disposed between the car and the wall surface of the shaft as seen in a vertical projection plane. The car is provided on opposite sides thereof with first and second main rope connectors. Disposed above the first and second main rope connectors are first and second car-side return wheels. Disposed above a balance weigh is a balance weight-side return wheel. The group of main ropes has a first main rope entrained around the first car-side return wheel and connected to the first main rope connector, and a second main rope entrained around the second car-side return wheel and connected to the second main rope connector. The car and the balance weight are suspended by the group of main ropes according to the 1:1 roping method.
