Abstract:
In an elevator device, first and second vertically movable bodies are suspended
by a main rope and lifted and lowered in a hoistway by a drive device. The first vertically
movable body has first and second passenger cars individually capable of receiving
passengers. The first and second passenger cars are capable of being relatively
displaced from each other between a first position and a second position. At the
first position, the cars are placed in a side-by-side relationship in the horizontal
direction, and at the second position, the cars are placed in a top-bottom relationship.
The first and second movable bodies can pass each other by displacing the first
and second cars to the second position.
