Title:
ELEVATOR DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/138707
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A drive device having a drive sheave rotated about a rotation shaft placed in the vertical direction is provided at the upper part of a hoistway. First and second main ropes suspend a common elevator car and also suspend a common counterbalance weight. At the upper part of the hoistway are provided a first car-side deflection sheave for leading the first main rope to the car, a second car-side deflection sheave for leading the second main rope to the car, a first counterbalance weight-side deflection sheave for leading the first main rope to the counterbalance weight, and a second counterbalance weight-side deflection sheave for leading the second main rope to the counterbalance weight. Also provided at the upper part of the hoistway is a horizontal turnabout shave for changing the direction of the first main rope. That portion of the first main rope which is between the drive sheave and the first counterbalance weight- side deflection sheave is passed over the horizontal turnabout sheave. The first and second main ropes are individually passed over the drive sheave such that at least portion of force that the rotation shaft of the drive sheave receives from the first main rope and portion of force that the rotation shaft of the drive sheave receives from the second main rope are cancelled against each other.
