Abstract:
Disclosed is an elevator device that allows destination floors to be input via voice. Said elevator device reliably prevents mistaken destination floor input due to conversations unrelated to destination floor input, passengers talking to themselves, and the like. Also, the power consumption of and processing load on said elevator device are reduced. The disclosed elevator device is provided with a passenger detection means and a determination means. The passenger detection means uses video information from an in-car camera to detect when a new passenger has boarded. When the passenger detection means has detected that a new passenger has boarded, the determination means uses the video information from the camera to determine whether or not the new passenger is trying to input a destination floor via voice. The elevator device is also provided with a microphone for voice input and a voice recognition means that uses voice information from the microphone to identify the passenger's destination floor. Voice input from the microphone is normally disabled, but is enabled for a certain amount of time when the determination means has determined that a passenger is trying to input a destination floor via voice.
