Abstract:
The present invention provides an elevator device whereby a travel space in the up/down direction of a counterbalance weight is maintained, overhead dimensions can be reduced, and pit depth can be reduced. This elevator device has: the counterbalance weight (4) arranged on the rear side in the depth direction of an elevator car (3); a hoisting machine (5) arranged above the counterbalance weight (4) at the top of a hoistway; only a weight suspension sheave (21) arranged between the hoisting machine (5) and the counterbalance weight (4); and an upper return pulley (20) arranged on the other side in the width direction of a vertical projection surface of the elevator car (3). A lower return pulley (17) has one end section in the width direction positioned in an area on the other side in the width direction between the vertical projection surface of the elevator car (3) and a vertical projection surface of the counterbalance weight (4). The other end side in the width direction protrudes to the other side in the width direction from said area.
