Abstract:
An elevator apparatus wherein a handrail device has a handrail body and a movable part. The movable part is displaceable with respect to the handrail body between a stowed position where the movable part is disposed inside the car when viewed from directly above and an extended position where the movable part protrudes outside the car when viewed from directly above, and has a gap reducing member. The gap reducing member is disposed between the car and a hoistway wall when the movable part is in the extended position and when viewed from directly above. The movable part is normally disposed in the stowed position. The movable part is disposed in the extended position when a maintenance worker is on top of the car.
