Abstract:
In this elevator emergency stop apparatus, a pressing spring device provides a resistance force to the movement of a normal wedge guide member in a direction separating from a guide rail. A normal wedge member has an inverse wedge guide surface that separates from the guide rail in accordance with upward movement. An inverse wedge member is movable with respect to the normal wedge member along the inverse wedge guide surface. A vertical spring device provides a resistance force to the upward movement of the inverse wedge member with respect to the normal wedge member. The spring constant of the vertical spring device is less than the spring constant of the pressing spring device. The vertical spring device has an area in which the change rate of generated force, with respect to increase of an upward displacement amount of the inverse wedge member with respect to the normal wedge member, is less than that at the initial stage of displacement.
