Abstract:

Elevator equipment, comprising an elevator car (4) and a counterbalance weight (3) lifted up and down in the directions opposite to each other in a hoistway (1) which are suspended by a main rope (9), and a hoist device (10) allowing the main rope (9) to be wound thereon and driving the elevator car (4) and the counterbalance weight (3), the hoist device (10) further comprising at least two hoists (11) having drive sheaves (12) allowing the main rope (9) to be wound thereon and motors (13) rotatingly driving the drive sheaves (12), wherein at least one of the hoists is mounted on the counterbalance weight (3). Both hoists (11) used for the hoist device (10) are mounted on the counterbalance weight (3) or at least the other one of the hoists (11) of the hoist device (10) is installed at the upper part of the hoistway.
