Abstract:
Provided is an elevator governor which can appropriately operate an emergency stop device while the elevator car descends with the car door open. An elevator governor is provided with: a pendulum which moves to the outside of a sheave in the radial direction according to the rotational speed of the sheave; a rope restraining means which restrains a governor rope when the pendulum moves an amount greater than or equal to a predetermined amount to the outside of the sheave in the radial direction during the descent of the elevator car; a protrusion body which is provided to the pendulum; a cam which is provided so that the cam can move between a protruding position at which the cam can make contact with the protrusion body and a retracted position at which the cam cannot make contact with the protrusion body; and a cam movement means which moves the cam from the retracted position to the protruding position as the car door is opened. The cam has a cam surface which is formed in such a manner that, when the cam is at the protruding position, the cam surface guides the protrusion body of the pendulum and moves the pendulum to the outside of the sheave in the radial direction by the amount greater than or equal to the predetermined amount, the pendulum rotating together with the sheave in the direction corresponding to the direction of descent of the elevator car. The cam movement means moves the cam to the protruding position from the direction in which a cam contact section and the pendulum are not moved to the outside of the sheave in the radial direction in the process of movement of the cam.
