Abstract:
In an elevator hoist brake according to the present invention, an electromagnetic magnet has a first recess. A movable iron core has a second recess facing the first recess. A brake shoe is supported by the movable iron core. A brake spring is accommodated in the first recess. A spring receiver that receives the spring force from the brake spring is inserted in the second recess. The spring receiver projects from the movable iron core and is inserted in the first recess. With this configuration, the spring receiver serves as both a guide member that guides the movement of the movable iron core and a torque transmitting member that transmits, from the movable iron core to the electromagnetic magnet, torque acting on the brake shoe when the brake is applied.
