Abstract:
Provided is an elevator capable of preventing a false positive when determining whether the elevator is traveling with a door open. This elevator is provided with a safety controller that, while the door is open, controls the braking of the cage upon determination that the cage is traveling with the door open on the basis of the cage position and the cage speed. When the cage position is outside the range of a specified distance from the floor of a landing, the safety controller determines, at a given speed including zero, that the cage is traveling with the door open. When the cage position is within the range of the specified distance and the cage speed either equals or exceeds a prescribed speed threshold, the safety controller determines that the cage is traveling with the door open. The speed threshold is set to a value that is non-zero when in a position outside the range of the specified distance.
