Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for renewing an elevator, and an elevator, whereby the amount of fireproof covering material that is peeled and taken off can be reduced, thereby reducing the erect column-laying load. This method is for renewing an elevator provided with a framework structure installed in a hoistway and a fireproof covering material covering the walls of the hoistway, the framework structure being configured by assembling, in the up/down direction, a plurality of frame members that are obtained by putting construction beams together in a square shape, with nodal points coupled together with construction columns, the method comprising: a step for stripping the fireproof covering material around the nodal points; a step for bridging connecting members between the construction beams that meet at right angles at the nodal points, and fixing the connecting members to the construction beams; and a step for arranging erect columns between the connecting members facing each other in the up/down direction, and fixing the erect columns to the connecting members.
